About

What is Community Energy?

Community energy refers to the engagement of local people in energy-related activities to combat climate change, inequality and fuel poverty. Projects focus on renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy-supply, to benefit local people. There are almost 500 community energy groups across the UK.

Belper Community Energy

In August 2022, several local Belper area residents came together with the desire to reduce carbon emissions in Belper, raise awareness of energy issues and support the community in the transition to a greener energy system where no one is left behind.
